Heathen Manifesto + The Perfect Society

HEATHEN’S MANIFESTO + THE PERFECT SOCIETY. TWO EVENTS AT THE GUARDIAN OPEN WEEKEND, 24 MARCH.

At 10:00, Heathen’s Manifesto. Over the last six months on Comment is Free Belief, Julian Baggini has been looking at how to move beyond the stale impasse of the atheism/religion debate. At this event, he’ll be unveiling his blueprint for a more constructive, humbler atheism. Guests Elizabeth Hunter (director, Theos), Lord Richard Harries (former Bishop of Oxford) and Andrew Copson (chief executive, British Humanist Association) will join him to discuss, criticise and debate the manifesto.

At 17:30, What is the perfect society? Why do we need the lessons of Plato’s Republic in the 21st century? A panel (Myself, Mark Vernon and Charlotte Higgins) discusses in a live podcast as part of the Big Ideas series.
